Title	Estimated use, types of use and validation of data at specific recreation areas within the Black Hills of South Dakota using remote sensing equipment

Description	Included in this report are the findings of the first year of evaluation of remote counting systems to determine public use in the Black Hills. There were no consistent start/end times with these counters as some were out the previous year and not all could be started/ended simultaneously. The specific areas of sampling were Savoy Weir, Savoy Intake, Reausaw Lake, Silver City Walk-In Area, Sunday Gulch, and Upper and Lower Grace Coolidge Walk-In Area. These areas were selected due to recent habitat work or uniqueness of the area. Three goals and one specific management objective were set forth to determine the characteristics of these access areas in the Black Hills in 2007/2008. Our goals were: 1. Determine public use patterns of unique access areas in the Black Hills with remote sensing equipment. 2. Determine the types of use at specific access areas in the Black Hills. 3. Determine accuracy of remote counting devices and application of their future uses during the summer, fall and winter of 2007-2008.
